Frown line

Frown Lines are the wrinkles that appear between your eyebrows, commonly known as “11’s”, and are usually visible when you furrow your eyebrows.

We offer Botox® for the treatment of facial slimming and increased definition of the jawline. Botox injections are administered into the masseter muscle and relax it, thereby reducing vertical lines around the jawline and improving definition in the chin. This treatment can also improve gummy smile lines.

Headache / migraine relief

Injecting Botox or Dysport into the face, scalp, and neck relieves muscular tension, resulting in a decrease in migraines and headaches.

Hyperhidrosis

Is excessive sweating a problem for you? Consider Botox! FDA-approved Botox is used to treat excessive sweating in the underarms. This treatment is usually repeated every 4-6 months.

Botox/Dysport FAQs

Botox and Dysport are both purified proteins that block muscle contraction. They have a slightly different molecular makeup, but they achieve the same results. Some patients prefer one over the other. If you are not certain which neuromodulator you want to have injected, Dr. Gattoni can discuss the options with you further during your consultation.

Treatment with Botox or Dysport requires minimal downtime. You can return to your daily routine immediately. The only restrictions you will have is that you cannot lay down or bend over for 4 hours and you cannot exercise, wear hats, or put your face in a massage cradle for 24 hours.

In general, Dysport sets in a few days sooner than Botox, at 3-5 days for Dysport and 5-7 days for Botox. The final result of the treatment is seen at 10-14 days.

Typically, Botox or Dysport will last 3-4 months. From weeks 2-6 after treatment, you will see the maximal efficacy, then you will slowly see the muscles regaining movement from week 6 to month 3-4 when you will be due for another treatment.

If you decide not to continue Botox or Dysport injections, your muscles will resume contracting and the lines you had before treatment are likely to recur. But there is no negative consequence to having several treatments of Botox and Dysport then discontinuing treatment.

The needle is extremely small. The injection feels like a pin prick which is relatively painless.

Side effects are generally mild. They include swelling or bruising at the injection site and mild headache. There is also a small possibility that undesired impairment of muscle function can occur but it is usually associated with poor injection technique.

When injected in the appropriate doses and in the correct locations, Botox and Dysport will give you a natural refreshed look, not a frozen fake look. It is important that you seek treatment by an aesthetic provider with the experience and knowledge to achieve desirable results.

This differs for every person. Ideally, you should start getting Botox or Dysport when you start seeing wrinkles at rest (wrinkles that are there when you are not animating). In addition, many patients opt to start getting small amounts of Botox or Dysport in their mid 20s as a preventative, anti-aging measure.

Botox and Dysport cannot be injected while pregnant or breastfeeding.
